Despina D. Prassas, Ph.D., CNP, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Despina Prassas is a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is Board Certified in the state of Massachusetts. She graduated with a master’s degree in Nursing from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and has a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Columbia University in New York, NY. Having worked as Registered Nurse for over two decades, at Colony Care Behavioral Health she will be serving the child and adolescent population. Her experience includes working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and she believes healing is a collaborative endeavor whose ultimate goal is finding peace.
The office setting is in a handicapped accessible building with a private entrance and located on the first floor. Dr. Prassas provides medication initiation and management, and her practice style includes both psychodynamic psychotherapy and goal-oriented therapies (CBT and DBT). Her office hours are in the afternoons/evenings, and on Saturdays. For the initial visit, which will take at least an hour, the provider will perform a thorough examination that will include a discussion of medical history and a neurological examination, along with a psychiatric evaluation. Her focus includes ADHD, depressive and anxiety disorders, OCD, and mood disorders.
