Andrea Killam received her bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1992 and received her master’s in social work from Salem State College in 1997. During her 23 years of psychiatric experience at McLean Hospital she worked in inpatient units, residential programs, partial hospital programs and outpatient care, culminating in a decade spent as the director of a program focused specifically on issues affecting women. Ms. Killam specializes in the treatment of depression & anxiety, trauma, grief & loss, eating disorders, emotional eating & bariatric surgery. She uses dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and psychodynamic principles in her work.
