I believe counseling can be one of the most amazing and transformational experiences of your life when you feel validated, safe, and supported to explore your life’s struggles. I specialize in providing comprehensive mental health support, focusing on issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and co-occurring substance disorders. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts Boston. I often will incorporate psychoeducation into my counseling sessions, so they are interactive, and I share with you what I know about human development and behavior, as repetition and practice are key to change. So, when we intentionally practice relationship or self-help tools on a regular basis, we create positive, long-lasting change.

My theoretical orientation is an integrated approach rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy, which focuses on the interaction between events in one’s life, and how beliefs about those events impact one’s feelings and experiences, combined with rational emotive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing and mindfulness. My primary goal in every session is that each of my clients feel safe and supported so that they have the opportunity to realize and achieve the goals they set out and want for their lives. Sometimes that means walking down some difficult paths. I walk alongside each of my clients providing support through this struggle. I often, during this time, remind them of the inner strength they may have forgotten they possess and encourage them to be patient and compassionate with themselves because change is a process, and we do not always get it right.

Adopting a holistic approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, my practice is founded on the belief that true healing involves addressing the individual as a whole. By understanding the unique experiences and perspectives of each client, I utilize a tailored approach to meet you where you are, recognizing that each individual’s journey on the path to wellness is unique. My goal is to empower clients by integrating evidence-based practices, develop coping strategies and resilience in the face of life’s complexities, in addition to collaborative goal setting into the therapeutic journey of healing and self-discovery, thereby navigating a path towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.
