Sandra received her BSN, MSN, FNP, and PMHMP from Rivier University in New Hampshire. She received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from UTMB Galveston. She brings three decades of experience and health care knowledge to the field of psychiatric care after working in a variety of settings including active-duty military, community mental health, forensics, geriatric consultation, and outpatient private practice. After working in the New England and Central Texas areas, she recently completed a term with the National Health Service Corps in the Pacific Northwest.
Dr. French is a licensed and board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She has experience working with the National Health Service and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau (International Honor Society of Nursing), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA), and Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP). She has served as a nurse leader who transforms health-care knowledge with evidence-based clinical research, advocacy, education, practice, and scholarship.
Her strong devotion to providing evidenced-based quality health care is evident in her use of the latest technologies available for diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric conditions. Dr. French supports expansion of quality health care access for everyone, using an integrated healthcare model to coordinate patient care through a holistic approach, and working toward stigma reduction through education and advocacy for patients experiencing mental health issues.
